🌊 The Friendly Kite Story

Friendly Kite School was never created to be just another kitesurfing business.

It began in Playa Buen Hombre, Dominican Republic, with a simple idea: create opportunities for talented local riders, build professional instructors, support the community and welcome everyone to the beach.

What started locally has grown into an international kitesurfing community with Friendly Kite locations in Playa Buen Hombre, Dominican Republic, and Praia de Macapá, Brazil.

Today, Friendly Kite operates IKO PRO Centers with professional IKO-certified instructors teaching everyone from complete beginners to experienced riders looking to advance their skills.

Our team includes instructors with more than 15 years of teaching experience, as well as extensive real-world international competition experience.

But qualifications are only part of what makes Friendly Kite different. We believe great instruction should also be safe, honest, welcoming and personal.

Built From the Community

Friendly Kite grew alongside the people of Buen Hombre.

Local kids who once stood on the beach watching others kite were given opportunities to learn, train and develop professionally. Over the years, Friendly Kite has helped support the development of 11 IKO-certified professionals from Buen Hombre.

For us, that is more than growth. It is proof that kitesurfing can create real opportunities for a community.

And that same philosophy now continues in Brazil.

Two Incredible Kite Destinations

In the Dominican Republic, our home is Playa Buen Hombre, a small fishing village known for its large shallow-water areas, open space and authentic local atmosphere.

In Brazil, Friendly Kite operates in Praia de Macapá, Piauí, an exceptional destination known for consistent wind, beautiful lagoons and world-class kitesurfing conditions.

Each destination is different, but the Friendly Kite philosophy stays the same.
