Friendly Kite's main Macapá kite season runs approximately from mid-September through early December, with October and November as our prime months for a wind-focused kite trip.

September and early December can also offer excellent conditions, although they are closer to the edges of the primary season.

Friendly Kite is open year-round, but outside the main windy season we prefer to operate primarily by reservation.

From mid-September through early December, Macapá is known for its highly consistent seasonal winds. Nevertheless, wind is a natural condition, so we don't promise an exact wind speed or guarantee conditions for an individual day.

October and November: the core season

For riders choosing their travel dates specifically around kitesurfing, October and November are the months we recommend first.

This is when Friendly Kite is fully active in Macapá and when the destination becomes especially focused on kite travel, lessons, coaching and progression.

How the Tides and Lagoons Change the Spot

Understanding the tide helps you get the most out of Praia de Macapá.

The water level changes the shape and size of the lagoons, exposes and covers sandbars, changes the shallow-water areas and can completely transform where riders choose to kite.

A location that looks one way in the morning can look completely different several hours later.
